Muzyka K.M., Zholudov Yu.T. and Snizhko D.V.,
employees of the Department of Biomedical
Engineering of KNURE, took part in the 5th IEEE
Middle East and Africa Conference on Biomedical
Engineering (MECBME 2020). Due to the global
impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on travel and
meetings, the conference took place online on
October 27-29, 2020. The conference was
organized by Yarmouk University, IEEE Jordan
Section, and IEEE EMBS Jordan Chapter. The
MECBME Conference was in its fifth edition. It
was previously held in the United Arab
Emirates, Qatar, Lebanon, and the latest in
Tunisia. It is an international conference that
provides a unique forum for engineers,
scientists, and researchers to present their
state‐of‐the‐art findings in Biomedical
Engineering.
Muzyka K.M. presented a report on behalf of the
research group of the Laboratory of Analytical
Optochemotronics. Conference Section:
«Bioinstrumentation, Nanomedicine, and
Biosensors». Title of the report «Coreactant-
change based Strategy towards Selective
Electrochemiluminescent Detection of Polycyclic
Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Aqueous Media».
In this work a new strategy for selective
heterogeneous electrochemiluminescent detection
of luminescent polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
(PAHs) is introduced. This strategy can be
useful during distinguishing PAHs with
different cancerogenicity.
In his introductory speech Muzyka KM also
introduced KNURE, noting its authority in the
field of education and science and its 90th
anniversary.
MECBME 2020 is a peer-reviewed full-paper
conference.
All presented papers will be
submitted for publication to the IEEE Xplore®
digital library and will be indexed in Scopus.
