Professor Avrunin popularizes scientific research

In the reading room of the Department of Scientific and Information Support of Innovative Processes of the V. G. Korolenko Kharkiv State Scientific Library, within the framework of the cycle “Outstanding events and figures in the history of science and technology”, a round table “Alfred Nobel – an outstanding engineer, inventor and philanthropist” was held.
The event was organized in a hybrid format in compliance with quarantine requirements.
The host of the event is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V.V. Rossikhin, one of the stakeholders of the BMI department, made a speech on the activities of Alfred Nobel and the history of the founding of the Nobel Prize.
The head of the department, Oleg Avrunin, presented a report on the significance of the contributions of Nobel laureates to world science and focused on the importance of their research, in particular in biomedical technologies.
On October 27, 1895, Alfred Nobel drew up a will, according to which his savings went to the Nobel Prize fund – the most prestigious award that is awarded annually for outstanding scientific research, revolutionary inventions or a great contribution to culture or the development of society.

The event was aimed at popularizing scientific achievements among young people and contributed to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
