On November 11, at a meeting of the dissertation council DF 64.050.061 of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, the defense of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy of the junior researcher of the Department of Industrial and Biomedical Electronics T.V. Bernadskaya was successfully held.

The official opponent of the thesis “Methods of three-dimensional visualization of plasma membranes of erythrocytes to determine morphological signs” was the head of the department, Professor Oleg Avrunin.
The dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in specialty 152 – Metrology and information-measuring technology is devoted to improving the method for determining the morphological characteristics of erythrocytes by visualizing a three-dimensional image with subsequent statistical analysis of morphological changes to determine the degree of their functionality.
The subject of research is the three-dimensional geometric parameters of the morphology of erythrocytes, which have properties to change depending on the patient’s condition.
In particular, Professor Avrunin noted that the morphology of erythrocytes changes in various hematological diseases and reflects the state of the body as a whole, therefore, the study of the state of blood cells and, first of all, erythrocytes is an urgent task of laboratory diagnostics.
